On December 20, 2016, a 12yearold girl in Las Vegas named Arielle De La Rosa was banned from Roblox for what she believed was a "harassment campaign". She had created a character named Emily Roe that she used to bully another player online. The bullying campaign went on for over a year until it came to her parents' attention and they contacted Roblox about it. The harassment campaign violated the Child Online Privacy Protection Act COPPA. Her parents encouraged her to create a character named "Emily Roe" and they hoped that this would help her get unbanned from Roblox.

Roblox is a platform for developers to build and create their own games around. Unlike games made in other gaming platforms, Roblox has an online social element that allows users to play together, to communicate with their friends and build communities.

In March 2017, ROBLOX added a new feature that allows builders to use an already existing image of a face as their character's face. The face can be uploaded from the user's computer or through an online camera. This feature has been disabled for the 2017 Halloween game The Mad Murderer.[38]

The app is really easy to use, you just sign up with your email and then enter your username and password which was created when you registered on Roblox. After that it automatically detects your IP address, and then you can choose which device you would like to receive the advertising on. You can choose from a desktop computer, a laptop or a mobile device. The next thing you do is select the game categories that you would like to play games in such as anime, roleplay, sandbox and more. After making your choices, it will show you ads every 15 minutes and then give you free robux for completing offers. You may also skip an ad if you don't want to watch them when they pop up so frequently.

The company's revenue is seen as a key driver for future revenue. According to the Global Gaming Sustainability Report by Eilers Research, ROBLOX generated 15 million in revenue in 2013 and 135 million by 2016. The report also estimated that ROBLOX will see a compound annual growth rate of 106 over the 20152025 period. The company has also completed two rounds of financing, raising more than 250 million in 2016.
